According to a recent study,most of the world's population actually has fairly limited needs. That is, they are quite enough for a good life a certain amount of money.
During the study, experts conducted a survey amongresidents of 33 countries located on all continents of the planet. In total, about 8,000 people participated in the survey. The subjects had to be told how much money they needed to create their ideal life by choosing the amount they would like to win for this in the lottery.
Among the amounts, the minimum was 10 thousand dollarsUSA, and maximum – 100 billion US dollars. Surprisingly, across all countries, only a minority chose $100 billion (8-39 percent depending on the country). In most cases, people chose $10 million or less, and in Russia and India, many participants even chose $1 million.
In general, the fact that their needs and desires are not limited was more often stated by young people than by old people. Although it must be said that the results on this item were different depending on the country.
In addition, it turned out that 100 billion dollars as the main prize was chosen most often by residents of countries in which there is more tolerance for inequality and where collectivism prevailed.
It also turned out that people with unlimitedneeds are more likely to spend money on helping others. However, if we talk about their values, then they cared about helping others no more than those who would have had less money to live their dreams.
