IOS 12 has a new “Alternativeappearance". It is designed so that you can add your alternative look. For example, your face with a beard. However, the function works no worse if you add a completely different face.

Here's how to add a second person for Face ID authentication:

Step 1: Go toSettingson your iPhone X with iOS 12.

Step 2: SelectFace ID and passcode.

Step 3: Enter your password.

Step 4: ClickSet an alternate look.

Step 5: The normal Face ID setting screen appears. ClickTo begin.

Step 6: Follow the on-screen instructions to add your face.

Step 7: Scan your face again and then clickIs done.

A second face has been added for Face ID. Now your partner or family member will be able to unlock your iPhone with his face, and they will not need to enter a password each time.
