How to disable the new design of Google Chrome and return to the classic

If you recently updated the Google Chrome browser, you probably noticed a design change. New design available in

Chrome 69 or later. Some users are delighted with such changes, but others prefer a classic design. If you don’t like the new design, you can turn it off and go back to the classic one.

We will use the Chrome browser on Mac, but the method will be the same for PCs with Windows and Linux.

How to disable a new design Chrome 69+

1. Open a browser and paste the following link into the address bar:

chrome: // flags / # top-chrome-md

2. Search for “UI Layout for the browser’s top chrome.”

3. Open the menu next to “UI Layout for the browser’s top chrome” and select “Normal”.

4. Restart the Chrome browser to apply the changes.

When Chrome opens, you will see the old classic design. Here's what it will look like:

The method will be exactly the same for PCs with Windows and Linux. As you can see, everything is very simple. You can return a new design at any time or select another in the menu.
