"Science Film Laboratory 2.0" is accepting applications for participation in an educational project dedicated to
Educational course, which will take place in the formdistance learning, includes more than 30 lectures on history, dramaturgy, directing, producing popular science films. Participants will also attend round tables and open discussions. This year the central theme of the laboratory will be ecology and reasonable consumption.
The practical block will be held in Moscow.23 people will be admitted to the director's workshop on a competitive basis. Together with scientists, they will write scripts for films that will have to go through a pitch session with the participation of experts - directors, producers and scientists. The authors of the top 10 entries will receive grants for making short films, which will be collected in an almanac and shown in 2024.
In Russia, the interest of viewers in scientificfilms, the organizers say, but the industry lacks directors capable of translating complex issues into the language of cinema without major omissions and misrepresentations. The task of the laboratory is to fill this gap and create a trusting environment for communication between filmmakers and scientists.
