How to send your name to the moon: NASA shared detailed instructions

Space travel isn't cheap, but NASA has found a way to get to the moon for everyone.How

Aerospace agency officials said on social media, astronomy enthusiasts cansend its name to Earth's natural satellite as part of this year's Artemis I mission.

To get on the space listtravelers, you need to register using the link and receive a symbolic boarding pass. NASA said the names of millions of “passengers” will fly around the Moon on a flash drive aboard the Orion spacecraft. The travel distance will be 2,092,147 km.

As the agency noted, the event will behistorical on several levels. The uncrewed Artemis I mission is considered humanity's first step toward a "long-term human presence on the Moon."

“We will cooperate with commercialand international partners and establish the first long-term presence on the Moon. Then we'll use what we learn about it to take the next giant leap: sending the first astronauts to Mars,” NASA said.

The launch date remains uncertain, but a “rehearsal” is set for June 18 at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
