HTC to unveil flagship VR/AR headset at CES 2023

As it became known to The Verge, HTC isworking on a new flagship virtual and augmented reality headset. The presentation will take place on January 5 at CES 2023 in Las Vegas. Part of the features of the device was revealed by Shen Ye, one of the representatives of the Taiwanese company.

The commercial name of the headset is not specified.It is known that it will look like big glasses, i.e. We are waiting for similarities with Vive Flow. The key feature of the device will be the presence of side and front cameras for the formation of augmented reality effects.

On a single charge, the HTC headset will be able towork for two hours. The model will be equipped with a scene depth sensor to generate accurate space maps. Shen Ye also promises that the device will receive support for a wide dynamic range, so that it will be able to see text on a smartphone or laptop.

The cost is unknown.In addition, the HTC representative declined to specify what category of customers the upcoming novelty will be aimed at: business, like the Vive Focus 3 ($1300), or ordinary users, like the already mentioned Vive Flow ($600). However, Shen Ye emphasized that the new headset will combine the strengths of both models.
