
Analysts report changes in the smartphone market. Well-known company Huawei, under sanctions
The first five places in the global smartphone marketare occupied by Samsung (18% of the market share), Xiaomi (16%), Apple (15%), Oppo (10%) and Vivo (10%), respectively. In 6th place is the young Chinese brand Realme (5%), which ousted Huawei.
Realme came up in 2018 offeringbudget smartphones Oppo under a different name. Gradually, the company's devices began to develop independently of Oppo, and currently there are no completely identical models from the two brands.
Realme initially started its expansion from the Indian market, where it competed with the budget Xiaomi Redmi, and in 2019 the brand entered other markets.

Between the third quarter of 2018 and the secondquarter of 2021, sales of smartphones and other gadgets under the Realme brand averaged 15 million units per quarter and grew by 135.1% over this period.
Realme currently operates in 60 marketscountries and is among the top five brands in 20 of them. Specifically, Realme is ranked fifth in Europe. This affected Huawei, which was supplanted by the new brand.
Huawei has been under US sanctions since 2019. The company was forced to sell the Honor division and today, with the exception of a few models, has almost completely limited smartphone production.
