Huawei FreeBuds 3 Wireless Headphones Are Better than AirPods

American tech giant Apple is not so easy to compete with other mobile manufacturers

technicians, especially Chinese. After all, the latter today can offer pretty cool alternatives to Apple products, and in some ways even surpass them both in terms of characteristics and price. A striking example is the new Huawei FreeBuds 3 wireless headphones, which were announced at the Huawei IFA media conference along with the new Kirin 990 SoC chip. Headphones exceeded all expectations and were better than the popular Apple AirPods. And what exactly, we will tell further.

Huawei FreeBuds 3

Demand for Apple's AirPods has long beenas high as possible. So far, the Chinese and other companies have not begun to stamp alternative wireless headsets. The same Samsung Galaxy Buds are great for mobile users. It seems that the next wave of success will come precisely from Huawei. After the presentation of FreeBuds 3, we can safely say that this accessory will change the current state of things for the company. In short, the new product is distinguished by a more elegant design, a dedicated audio chip, noise reduction.

Specifications

The latest version of Huawei wireless headphones, denoted as FreeBuds 3, did not replace last year's FreeBuds 2 Pro. The design of the accessory has been made several subtle, but significant changes. The overall look is still reminiscent of Apple's AirPods. By the way, this latest version now looks almost identical to the wired headphones that Huawei ships with the P30 Pro and other flagship phones.

Huawei also states that its latest creationIt boasts an anti-wind design that will help improve sound quality. Speaking of this, the company hopes to take the accessory to the next level with a special audio chip called Kirin A1, which supports Bluetooth 5.1, consumes 50% less energy and about 5% less than the competing Apple H1 chip.

The manufacturer thought through everything to the smallest detail so thatprovide more focused, accurate sound and active noise reduction, which can be turned off by the user at any time. The last point is especially impressive, given the size of FreeBuds 3. This is usually the case for much larger headphones.

There is also an intelligent control system.noise, which can adjust the sound for each ear canal, and a sensor that detects when you are speaking through vibration, and therefore helps block the sound if necessary. All this, in turn, should provide crystal clear sound even at a speed of 20 km / h.

Regarding some technical details,FreeBuds 3 includes a 14mm high-sensitivity dynamic driver with a dedicated bass tube. Kirin A1 also reduces latency by about 30% and helps provide ultra-low audio latency in the game. For reference, Huawei FreeBuds 3 supports a minimum latency of 190 ms, while the second-generation Apple AirPods offers 220 ms, and Samsung Galaxy Buds - 564 ms.

Case and Charging

Original FreeBuds came with a tabletcharging case, and FreeBuds 2 Pro had a square alternative. With the third-generation model, Huawei has returned to a more rounded body, which now supports SuperCharge technology. This means that it can be charged 100% faster than the latest Apple AirPods via cable, and 50% faster wirelessly.

Working hours

As for FreeBuds 3 themselves, they are designed for4 hours of use without recharging or 20 hours in case of charging. In comparison, the Apple AirPods can last up to five hours without recharging and up to 24 hours if charged. Samsung Galaxy Buds will work for six hours without recharging and up to 13 hours in case of charging.
