Huawei introduced the MediaPad M5 tablet with a Kirin 960 processor

Huawei met the current mobile congress fully armed, or rather, with new devices. For starters there was

super-thin Matebook XPro laptop introduced,then visitors were able to see the new product in the Android tablet segment. The company showed the MediaPad M5, which will be available in regular and Pro versions. What’s unusual about the new product is that the hardware is based on a self-developed Kirin 960 processor.

High-quality screen

The regular version will be available with two variantsScreen diagonals: 8.4" and 10.8", the latter size will be the only one for the Pro version. Both diagonal options will have the same resolution of 2560×1600 IPS matrices, covered with protective 3D glass. By the way, the same processor is now installed on the flagship smartphone Mate 9, as well as Honor 9. All versions receive 4 gigabytes of RAM, with a larger variety of storage – from 32 to 128 gigabytes. In addition, it is expandable up to 256 gigabytes with a microSD card.

Design, ergonomics

The body of the tablet is made of aluminum alloy,the older version is equipped with two pairs of speakers, the younger one. The speakers are located in the back, they are made together with the American company Harman / Kardon, developing and producing Hi-Fi components. In the same place, on the back panel, the main camera lens perches, the sensor of which has 13 megapixels, which is prohibitive for millet tablets. Frontal is also quite good at 8 MP. All versions of the tablet received a fingerprint scanner built into the home button. The eighth generation EMUI software interface based on Android Oreo is also the eighth generation.

Professional difference

Pro version of the tablet differs from the usual inthat the older one has the support of the proprietary technology M-Pen, it is more than four thousand levels of sensitivity, support for the function of shading when tilted. M-Pen works for almost two months without recharging. In addition, the professional version will connect to the keyboard unit, and the desktop will have additional functions for working with files.

There is everything from wireless interfaces: Wi-Fi, 4G-module, Bluetooth. The battery in the younger MediaPad M5 will be 5100 mAh, which, according to the manufacturer, is enough for ten hours of video playback. The battery is charged from scratch in two hours. The older ten-inch version of the battery will receive 7500 mAh, the duration of charging is increased by an hour.

The color scheme of the MediaPad M5 includes gold and gray versions, the cost of the younger version is 430 dollars, the older version is 740 dollars.
