Huawei launched Celia voice assistant, which even Siri responds to

Today, along with the flagship Huawei P40 family, Huawei’s proprietary voice assistant Celia also debuted.

Analogue Google Assistant

The Chinese company’s need for its own voice assistant arose after US sanctions: Huawei smartphones do not have Google services and, accordingly, the Google Assistant virtual assistant.

Celia responds to the phrase “Hey Celia” and byecannot boast of much functionality. Like Siri in its early stages, Huawei Assistant answers weather queries, dials numbers, sends messages, sets calendar reminders, plays music and acts as a translator. It also interacts with the smartphone camera and can identify products in the frame and estimate their calorie content.

First of all, Celia is intended forEuropean users for whom Google services are important and who lose interest in devices without them. So far, Celia recognizes commands in English, French and Spanish.

The most interesting thing is that some have already tested the new voice assistant and discovered an interesting thing: if you say “Hey Celia” loudly, Siri will respond to nearby iPhones!
