There are two ways to create a smartphone worthabout 30-40 thousand rubles. The first is to use top-end stuffing, but save on other components: camera, screen, materials, and so on. But you can do the opposite: save on hardware, but put other top-end components. And, preferably, come up with some kind of zest. Huawei went exactly this way, but came up with more than one zest - but many at once. Let's explore this raisin bun.

    Equipment and design

Huawei nova 10 Pro comes in normalwhite cardboard box, the design is as standard as possible. The kit, in general, is the same: a SIM needle, documentation, a USB cable, a 100 W charger and a silicone case. Simple, but for the first time will do. In general, the equipment is good, nothing was clamped, for which many thanks.

There are four colors in nature:white, green, purple and black. The white and black have golden accents, and they look… controversial. I don't know why the designer came up with them. There are especially many of these accents in the area of the camera, the module of which as a whole is also designed very strangely. And options without golden accents, that is, green and purple, are not delivered to Russia, so you can’t hide from them anywhere. However, design is subjective; you might like it.

Body materials standard:frame - plastic, back - glass. It is processed very cool, I liked the tactile sensations. And I even liked the sound when you run your fingers or nails over this glass. Don't ask why I suddenly decided to check it out. But ergonomics is a moot point. Due to the curved screen, the narrow frame digs into the hand, and the tiny end buttons are located a little high.

In terms of components, I will only note that the microSD slots andThere is no 3.5 mm audio jack in Huawei nova 10 Pro. But there are stereo speakers (one and a half, but decent) and a good linear vibration motor. True, there are quite a few effects for it in the firmware of the phone, and I had to spend some time to check if it exists at all. But from an engineering point of view, there are no questions - there is vibration and it's cool. The fingerprint scanner is hidden in the screen, it works accurately and quite quickly.

We have already talked about atypical design, nowLet's talk about an atypical screen. The OLED panel with a huge diagonal of 6.78″ with a frequency of 120 Hz has an aspect ratio of 19.89: 9 with a very unusual resolution of 2652x1200 pixels. I didn’t notice a significant difference compared to Full HD, but if you look closely, small inscriptions really look sharper than on smartphones with 1080p. In terms of brightness and contrast, the screen is excellent, but the PWM is a bit high, especially at low brightness. Why they didn’t put a screen with high-frequency PWM - I don’t know.

The maximum screen refresh rate is120 Hz, there are three modes: 60, auto, 120. For some reason, Huawei blocked the ability to display the current frequency on the screen, but you can also see with your eyes that in auto mode, many applications work at 60 Hz. If you put 120, then they will be everywhere. The touch is advertised as 300Hz, but it actually runs at 140Hz. Where are the other 160 readings per second, I don't know.

    Software

Huawei nova 10 Pro runs on the EMUI 12 shell. What operating system is there is not clear, all mentions of Android have been cut out of the interface, and mentions of HarmonyOS have not been cut. But we know that HarmonyOS is the same Android, so there is no intrigue. There are no Google services either, although you can use them through certain crutches. But there is a branded App Gallery app store, and there on the main page they offer to download YouTube Vanced - if anyone didn’t know, this is an application that gives access to all the features of YouTube Premium for free. In short, the empire strikes back.

Other branded services include PetalMaps, the quality of which remains below the baseboard: the streets are signed at random, and near my house there was a certain “Magazin Kesh” (in fact, this place is a dump). And the corporate search (opened with a swipe down on the desktop) suggested that I search the Internet for “renaming Russia”. WHAT?! But there are also positive developments - two years after the loss of Google services, location sharing in Telegram finally started working again, and the built-in keyboard no longer asks to install Google Play when you press the voice input button. Voice input, however, still does not work.

But in general - it's not so bad. Most apps can be downloaded from either the App Gallery or APKPure (searchable inside the App Gallery) and they work. And along with YouTube Vanced, microG services are installed, which replace some calls to Google services in third-party applications. Perhaps, location sharing in Telegram worked for me precisely because of this.

      Cameras

The main camera of Huawei nova 10 Pro hasresolution is 50 megapixels, auxiliary modules are 8-megapixel wide with autofocus and 2-megapixel plug. Unfortunately, Huawei hides exactly which sensors it uses in its smartphones, perhaps to protect suppliers from secondary sanctions. But at least the main camera has a custom sensor with an RYYB color filter instead of RGGB (that is, with yellow pixels instead of green ones). This is less like how human eyes work, but Huawei says it provides better color reproduction. Well, let's see:

The Huawei nova 10 Pro fish camera shoots veryBeautiful. Excellent color reproduction and detail during the day, very atmospheric and bright shots at night. Yes, you will say “turns night into day” - but it does it in a very adult way, beautifully and artistically. All in all, a great camera, especially for a non-flagship smartphone. But the width is contradictory: on the one hand, it takes very beautiful macro photos and sometimes gives out good landscapes, and on the other hand, it often catches up too much sharpness or focuses in the wrong direction. There are frankly defective pictures. If the problem is not hardware, then I think it will be fixed with updates. Then there will be beauty.

Huawei nova 10 Pro also has two front cameras, moreover, there was no plug: in addition to the 60-megapixel main module with autofocus, they put an 8-megapixel telephoto lens (zoom 2x). When I saw the optical zoom in the front camera, I immediately went to the Huawei website for explanations: why might it be needed at all? I have never found anything more intelligible than shooting vlogs about cosmetics or jewelry. Well, since I don’t use cosmetics and jewelry, I decided to just shoot my eye with the maximum zoom (5x). You can admire my eye in the gallery. In general, the front camera is very cool (much better than Motorola's 60 MP); but the telephoto, like the width at the back, has problems with autofocus.

Video! In this part, everything is very interesting: the main cameras in front and behind can shoot in [email protected] and [email protected], additional - only [email protected] Accordingly, in 4K the width and telephoto are removed fromextrapolation (the sensors are 3264 pixels wide, and the video is 3840 pixels). I haven’t seen this in a long time, but the approach is good - it’s better to shoot in 4K than shoot in 1080p. There are no complaints about the quality of the video - the sound is recorded very sensitively, the detail is good.

      Performance and Benchmarks

Huawei nova 10 Pro is powered by Qualcomm chipsetSnapdragon 778G 4G. This is a special version of an excellent mid-range chip, devoid of 5G support. If for some reason you really want 5G, then in China there is such a modification - Hi nova 10 Pro. Not huawei, but just hy, yes. The fewer letters, the faster the Internet. Memory layout - 8 GB RAM + 256 GB ROM. Memory cards are not supported (even nanoMemory is not declared), so there is no way to get more than 256. Even if somehow still shuffle the letters.

      2 x auto - 2 x performance

The implementation of the chipset is good.True, in the CPU Throttling Test, he lasted only 8 minutes, and then turned on the “you don’t touch me - I don’t work for you” algorithm. At this point, I took out the autoclicker, and after that the chipset no longer left the green zone. I note that with the performance mode enabled, this algorithm did not turn on in half an hour, but the GIPS drop was a little more serious. The gaming throttling test showed a stable result in performance mode - and a slight drop at the 15th minute in normal mode.

In general, you don’t have to worry about throttling in games. The main thing is that initially the performance should be sufficient - and it is sufficient. Even Genshin Impact runs great on high settings; if you set the maximum, fps will be lower, but also playable. For 25 minutes of play, the brightness did not drop, the fps did not drop, and the case became only slightly warm. Everything is great in games. The problem for you will not be the frame rate, but where to get games from and how to run them. For example, in the same Genshin Impact, I had to log in via Twitter (and for this I need to install a VPN), because logging in via Google does not work even with microG installed.

Battery capacity of this smartphonerelatively small - 4500 mAh. And it discharges, let's say, with the flagship speed: per hour in the browser - 20%, per hour in the game - 16%. (Tested at 120 Hz and with maximum brightness.) In general, you can count on ~ 6 hours of screen on one full charge. Not bad, but it can get better. I note that the zhor in the standby mode is reduced to zero here (glory to the absence of gapps), so if you use the phone a little, then it can last three days or a week. Depending on how little you use your phone.

The complete charger has a power of 100 W, and itvery fast: half in 10 minutes and in just 24 minutes to 100%. It's not record-breaking, but it's freaking fast. And if you suddenly forgot your phone for the night, you can charge it during breakfast or while getting dressed - and feel free to count on a full day of use. The main thing do not forget that you need to not only insert the cord into the phone, but also the charger into the socket. And then no fast charging will help. I got caught up in this.

        findings

Huawei nova 10 Pro is a very distinctive smartphone.A strange design with a “pill” in the screen, controversial camera design and coolly processed glass. Android without Google services, but with easy access to YouTube Vanced and low power consumption in the background. Excellent main camera, excellent wide macro and excellent front camera plus a unique selfie telephoto. A great implementation of the Snapdragon 778G without 5G, but you just can't get into some games without sophisticated tricks. Non-top autonomy, but very fast charging. There doesn't seem to be a single aspect in which the nova 10 Pro is an ordinary smartphone. And the question is only one thing - do you like this originality?

        The best prices for Huawei!
