Huawei P30 Pro disassembled into details: repair the new flagship will not be easy

iFixit specialists got to the older flagship model Huawei P30 Pro, took it apart and evaluated it

maintainability.

What's inside

The "autopsy" showed that on the board there wereSoC Kirin 980, combined with a SKhynix H9HKNNNFBMAU LPDDR4X RAM chip, Micron JZ064 MTFC128GAOANAM-WT flash memory, HiSilicon HI6405 controller, Skyworks 78191-11 module and other parts. The in-display fingerprint scanner is based on the Goodix GM185 sensor (the same as the Xiaomi Mi 9 and OnePlus 6T).

The camera block is quite large, but does not take uptoo much space. Let us remind you that the Pro camera has four main camera modules: sensors of 40 million, 20 million and 8 million pixels, as well as a ToF sensor for determining the depth of the scene.

The battery capacity is 16.04 Wh.

Verdict

As a result, iFixit representatives listed standard fasteners and modularity of components as pluses. Thanks to this, components, including the battery, will be easy to replace.

But replacing the display will be more difficult: on the way to it you need to “get rid” of many components. And due to the abundance of glue during repairs, the protective glass can easily be damaged.

As a result, Huawei P30 Pro received 4 points out of 10 for maintainability. At one time, last year's P20 Pro had the same rating.
