Specifications and display
In fact, Huawei announced three phones— P40, P40 Pro and P40 Pro+: The mid-range P40 has a 6.1-inch 1080p display and the other two are 6.58" with 2640" 1200 resolution. The displays feature a front-facing camera setup for a dual 32MP selfie camera with autofocus and 4K video recording.
The two large phones feature a beautiful display that Huawei calls Overflow Display. This allowed Huawei to achieve a record screen-to-body ratio.
The display looks great, especially when combinedwith the new Silver Frost matte finish, which is still a chameleon shade, and a two-tone camera on the back. The phones are available in Ice White and Black (P40 Pro +) nanotechnology ceramics with sapphire hardness, as well as Deep Sea Blue and excellent matte shades of Silver Frost or Blush Gold (Pro).
The fingerprint scanner on the display was alsosignificantly improved: now it takes up 30% more area than before, and a third faster than it can be unlocked. Fortunately, Huawei retains the optical solution instead of Samsung's ultrasonic solution, which is slower.
And last but not least: There is also a fashionable high display refresh rate here, and Huawei believes that a stable update of 90 Hz is the perfect compromise between smooth display and battery consumption.
Speaking of battery, both phones have4200 mAh battery (3800 mAh for P40), which can be recharged with wired and wireless charging 40 W, which is a new record. The battery is slightly smaller than the Mate 30 Pro, but Huawei believes that it has chosen the best combination of screen resolution and the economical Kirin 990 5G chipset in order to keep power consumption the same.
Camera
Not only do the P40 Pro and Plus come equipped withWith giant 50MP 1/1.28" RYYB pixel-arranged camera sensors, the Plus model also features true 10x periscope optical zoom (as opposed to the previous 5x zoom entry on phones like the P40 Pro. P30 Pro or Galaxy S20 Ultra).
To keep up with Samsung, Huawei alsoEquipped 100% of the pixels on its camera with phase detection autofocus for instant continuous autofocus when shooting video and milliseconds in low light conditions. However, instead of Dual PD autofocus, Huawei uses the Octa PD solution to continuously refocus in all scenarios.
Dual 32MP front cameraalso comes with autofocus and 4K video recording, unlike many other competitors, and Huawei promises beautiful portrait shots in bokeh with a second IR depth / gesture sensor. In terms of video, there is no 8K recording, but 4K comes with a range of features and optimizations, as well as optical and Audio Zoom technologies.
These specifications alone should tell you about Huawei's commitment to excellence.
