Huawei promises that in a few years HarmonyOS will compete with iOS

Huawei CEO and founder Ren Zhengfei gave an interview to Fortune, in which he explained

about the company's plans for its own operating system HarmonyOS.

What are the plans

Let's remember that HarmonyOS was presented in early August.right in the midst of the trade war between the US and China and against the backdrop of US sanctions against Huawei. It can be used on any type of device, be it a smartphone, TV, smart watch, etc. The first “swallows” were televisions.

At the presentation, Huawei representatives promised that HarmonyOS will work outside of China. But so far, smartphones are in no hurry to change Android (even with open source code) to HarmonyOS.

However, Ren Zhengfei is confident that the “strengthening”HarmonyOS will take 2-3 years, and within a few years it will be able to seriously compete with the most popular operating systems on the market, including iOS from Apple.

At the same time, the head of the company emphasized that Huawei will continue to use Android and hopes for “friendly cooperation” with Google.
