Huawei released Mate 20 X 5G - its first smartphone with 5G support

In October last year, Huawei released the gaming flagship Mate 20 X, and today it officially presented

and started selling Mate 20 X 5G.This is the company’s first commercially available smartphone with support for fifth-generation networks, since the flexible Mate X with 5G, although presented back in February, has not yet been released.

What we get

In general, this is the same Huawei Mate 20 X,but with Balong 5000 5G modem. The smartphone received a huge 7.2-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2244×1080 pixels and a drop-shaped notch, a top-end Kirin 980 processor, a triple main camera (4+20+8 MP) and a 24-megapixel front camera.

But, unlike the regular Mate 20 X, the battery capacity here has been reduced from 5000 mAh to 4200 mAh and there is no 3.5mm headphone jack. Apparently, more space was needed for the 5G modem.

But the Mate 20 X 5G received support for fast charging at 40 W, and the amount of RAM can be increased from 6 to 8 GB.

What is the speed

Huawei also published a video in whichMate 20 X and Mate 20 X 5G are compared. Speedtest showed 1800 Mbps download and more than 200 Mbps upload for the Mate 20 X 5G and 80 Mbps and 10 Mbps, respectively, for its 4G brother.

How many?

Today the smartphone goes on sale in the UK with a price tag starting from £999 (about $1,240).
