
Huawei unexpectedly showed new completely wireless headphones FreeBuds 5i in China.
What is known
The new product is the successor to last year's FreeBuds4i. The headphones received a slightly updated appearance, as well as an improved active noise reduction system. The technology is capable of suppressing noise up to 42 dB. For comparison, in the previous model this figure was 22 dB. FreeBuds 5i connects to a smartphone and other devices via Bluetooth 5.2.

The sound in the new product is produced by 10mmdrivers. The headphones support the LDAC codec, Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification, and pairing with several gadgets. The FreeBuds 5i has a gaming mode with audio latency of up to 94ms. As for autonomy, the headphones will last up to 6 hours with ANC (7.5 hours without ANC). The charging case will increase this to 18.5 hours with ANC (28 hours without ANC). The headphones are controlled using touch panels. The new product can be configured through an application on a smartphone.




Price and when to wait
Huawei FreeBuds 5i can already be pre-ordered in China for $90. Sales of the device will begin on June 18.
