What is known
Galaxies with active nuclei are distinguished by a bright central part, since a supermassive black hole is located there. It absorbs dust and gas, resulting in very bright radiation.
Hubble took a photo of a pair of galaxies, whichcalled Arp 308 and is located at a distance of about 250 million light years from us. NGC 547 is located in the center of the image, and above it we can see the galaxy NGC 545.
Scientists have studied NGC 547 for a reason. Observation of the radio galaxy is part of a scientific effort to test existing theories about galaxies with active nuclei.
