Hyundai invests $400 million in new Boston Dynamics robots

Hyundai Motor Corporation, which owns Boston Dynamics, plans to invest almost half a billion

dollars for the development of robotic devices.

Hyundai Motor announced the founding of the InstituteBoston Dynamics AI Institute. Here, specialists will be engaged in research in the field of smart cars, robotic technology and artificial intelligence. The amount of investment in the project will be $400 million at the initial stage. How much money Hyundai Motor plans to invest in the institute has not yet been specified.

Mark to head Boston Dynamics AI InstituteRaibert, founder of Boston Dynamics. According to him, the mission of the new division will be the development of robots and smart machines of new generations. They need to be more flexible, learnable and secure than the devices that currently exist.

The headquarters of the institute will be located in the cityCambridge, Massachusetts, next to Harvard University and MIT. Boston Dynamics AI Institute management plans to hire professionals in various fields, including AI and robotics, as well as hardware and software developers.
