Hyundai has unveiled the Ioniq 5 electric vehicle with a solar panel on the roof. She charges the car passively.

Ioniq 5 became Hyundai's first car onelectric platform. Prior to this, the company simply produced electric versions of conventional models. The novelty also features a roof with solar panels - this option can be selected upon purchase. The panel consists of 46 separate segments. Hyundai, unfortunately, did not say how much power the solar cell can generate. Journalists write that the panel is likely capable of producing 210 watt-hours of energy.
Ioniq 5 can also charge other carsor devices. The electric car will be available in different versions - with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The most powerful version will be able to develop 306 horsepower and reach speeds of up to 100 kilometers per hour in 5.2 seconds.
Sales of new items will begin in the first half of 2021.
