IKEA and Sonos released smart speakers in the form of a chameleon lamp and a bookshelf

Sonos electronics teamed up to get togethercreate several useful gadgets. We sat, thought and decided that a gadget doesn’t have to be just a gadget. This is how the unusual “smart” speakers Symfonisk were born.

What it is

Symfonisk WiFi Table Lamp Speaker is a speakerin the form of a lamp. That is, the column itself acts as a leg, and the lamp itself is attached to the top. The latter, by the way, can change color and adapt to the colors of the interior. The lower grille can be white or black.

Symfonisk WiFi Bookshelf Speaker - column,which can also serve as a shelf. Thanks to the fastenings, you can hang it on the wall and even hang something. It can withstand a little more than three kilograms. If a shelf is not needed, the column looks great among books. Available in white and black colors.

Both speakers have almost the same sound:two Class D digital amplifiers, Apple AirPlay 2 support for playing music from iOS devices, as well as using Siri voice commands. You can also control playback using the buttons on the case or the proprietary Sonos application. In the future, the companies plan to release devices with support for the Alexa voice assistant.

How much are

The lamp speaker was priced at $179, the shelf speaker at $99. They will be available in IKEA stores from August.
