Il-76 crashed in the fields of Ryazan.The Russian Ministry of Defense said that the cause was an engine malfunction. The fire happened while still in the air. It is reported that the Il-76 crashed during a training flight.

The aircraft was flying without additional cargo. The crew was able to identify the problems and attempted a ground landing. But it didn't work out.
