In the first half of 2020 alone, naturalthe population decline in the country has already amounted to 265,500 people (946,500 deaths against 681,000 births), while for the entire last year the population decreased by only 32,100 people.
In 2020, based on Rosstat estimates, approximatelyso many Russians (27,000) died in April-June from COVID-19 (the calculation took into account cases where coronavirus infection was the main cause of death, and cases where the cause was different, but COVID-19 was diagnosed). So, against the backdrop of a pandemic, the publication continues, mortality in Russia increased by 3.1% compared to the same period in 2019, and the birth rate decreased by 5.4%.
Next year, the rate of population declineshould decrease to minus 81.5 thousand people, and in a year the plan predicts a positive increase. By 2030, it is assumed that the total annual population growth of the country will be 126.6 thousand people. In addition, the migration inflow should accelerate to 273.1 thousand and 287.4 thousand people in 2021 and 2022, respectively, and from 2023 it will exceed 300 thousand annually, the newspaper notes.
