In Russia, a system for controlling a computer with a look and "power of thought"

Scientists from the Moscow State Psychological and Pedagogical University (MGPPU) have begun developing

systems for controlling a computer using gaze and the “power of thought.” The device reads the magnetic fields of the brain.

RIA Novosti writes briefly about the work of scientists. This development could help paralyzed people. The scientists’ system will be a hybrid of an eye tracker and a “brain-computer interface.” The first technology uses cameras to track eyes. The second will recognize brain signals that arise during mental activity. That is, the system will allow you to control the computer “with the power of thought.”

The user of the system will only need to hold his gaze on something on the screen. This very action changes the pattern of brain signals. Therefore, the computer will be able to recognize the intent to “click.”

Scientists have already conducted an experiment with the system.During it, the participants played a special modification of the Lines game. The game was controlled by gaze delays. However, the accuracy of determining the “intentionality” of the system's gaze delay is still insufficient for technology implementation.
