Representatives of Facebook report that they will soon begin to test a function that will hide the number
Application researcher Jane Manchun Wong foundcode in the Facebook Android application that hides the number of likes from all users except the author. Others will simply see a few reaction emoticons and a note that the post was liked by “[friend] and the rest” instead of a certain number of people. The developers have confirmed that they will soon test this feature.

They want to introduce an update for the same purpose as inInstagram - so that people publish what they like and focus on how many likes the record collects. Apparently, Instagram users liked the feature, given that it is being released in more countries.
When Facebook starts testing this is still unknown.
