In the USA, a fighter was tested in conjunction with a drone: the drone was controlled from a tablet

In the USA, they have worked out an algorithm for launching a semi-autonomous UAV, which is called an unmanned wingman: it will

work in conjunction with fourth and fifth generation fighters.

An unmanned wingman is used,to expand the capabilities of combat aviation and provide more information about what is happening around. Such a UAV will be able not only to conduct reconnaissance, but also to independently carry out strikes.

During testingThey used a Beechcraft King Air turboprop, it was instead of a fighter and gave commands to an Avenger drone. A software application loaded onto a tablet-like device was used to control the UAV.

GA-ASI stated that the launch was successful:it was carried out in the skies over Southern California on August 25. The unmanned aerial vehicle took off from an airfield in the Mojave Desert, while the Beechcraft King Air took off from an airport in San Diego. The tests lasted two hours.
