Today we have on the review not one, but two at onceInfinix smartphone. One is the company's flagship with ultra-fast charging, a curved screen, a 200-megapixel camera and good stuffing. The other is a budget with a price of about 12 thousand rubles with productive hardware and compromises in other parameters. Let's take a look at what these two smartphones offer and what makes each of them interesting.

Infinix Zero Ultra
Smartphones come in completely differentboxes with a completely different set of accessories. Zero Ultra comes with: a SIM needle, a headphone adapter, a 180W charger, a Type-C-Type-C cable, a silicone case, documentation (quite funny content; be sure to read it when you buy it) and a card that allows you to win an NFT. I don’t know why Infinix got into such slippery marketing, but so be it. I note that the complete case easily flies off the phone and does not protect the screen well. For those users who constantly throw their phones at hard surfaces, I highly recommend looking for other protection.

Infinix Note 12 2023
Well, the Infinix Note 12 2023 has everything standard:SIM needle, USB cable, 33W charger, silicone case and documentation. And here the cover is reliable, with sides and generally excellent. And the USB cord has a standard Type-A connector on the other end, so there will be no problems connecting the smartphone to the computer. The owner of Zero Ultra will either have to limit himself to computers with Type-C connectors, or buy to use a third-party accessory.

A detailed description of the device Infinix Zero Ultra, after reading which you will not have any questions about the smartphone (actually not)
Infinix Zero Ultra and Note 12 2023 professcompletely different approach to design; however, I liked the performance of both devices. At Zero Ultra, despite the curved screen, ergonomics are very well thought out, the ends do not cut into the hand. This smartphone reminded me of the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra. Note 12 2023 is not as comfortable due to the greater width, however, even here I can’t help but praise the designers of Infinix, who designed the flat ends so that they do not spoil the grip.

Infinix Zero Ultra
Note 12 2023 case is completely plastic, howevermost of the backrest is made of extremely practical matt material. The upper zone is gloss, and it is she who is responsible for collecting your fingerprints in the smartphone. Why they made her like that, I don’t know; apparently, just for a greater external resemblance to the Vivo X80. The Zero Ultra has a plastic frame but a glass back. Moreover, it is not just glass, but with a very interesting texture, different in white and black versions of the device. Live, the white Zero Ultra looks very cool, I can’t say anything about the black model - I haven’t seen it.

Infinix Note 12 2023
By the location of the elements, both smartphonesare completely standard, so I will limit myself to a quick enumeration. Infinix Zero Ultra: blank left; microphone and additional speaker hole on top; volume rocker lock button on the right; speaker, microphone, USB Type-C and a slot for two nano-SIMs at the bottom. Infinix Note 12 2023: triple tray left; empty on top; volume rocker and lock button with built-in fingerprint scanner on the right; audio jack, microphone, USB Type-C and bottom speaker. As you can see, the older model was left without a microSD and an audio jack, but this is the current fashion.
But both devices received stereo speakers, moreover,To my ears they are of the same quality. But the vibro is not the same: a simple buzzer in Note 12 2023 and, albeit a simple one, but a tap in Zero Ultra. The flagship's fingerprint scanner is built into the screen - it works quite quickly and accurately, no complaints. But someone, I know, will like the implementation of Note 12 2023 more. Infinix Zero Ultra
Both smartphones received AMOLED screens with an aspect ratio of 20:9 and a resolution of 2400x1080 pixels, but, of course, completely different. The Note 12 2023 has an inexpensive 6.7" panel without hertz and with a 180Hz touch, and the Zero Ultra has an excellent 6.8" display with a frequency of 120Hz and a 240Hz touch (they promise360, but actually 240).Traditionally, there are some jokes for the Transsion with disabling hertz when the battery is low, but hereAt least they are not observed in all applications (games continue towork at 120 Hz!) and starting at 20%, not 30%.In terms of brightness and contrast, the flagship's display is expectedly better, and in terms of PWM, by the way, it is also less than 20%.
Software
Infinix Zero Ultra and Note 12 2023 at the momentwriting a review (end of November 2022), both work on Android 12 with a proprietary XOS shell, but different versions - 10.6 for the budget and 12.0 for the older model. I must say that the difference between the two neighboring versions of XOS (the 11th does not exist) is colossal. Yes, it is felt that this is the same firmware, but it has been combed very well, and now it looks much better. Of course, there are notes of Funtouch OS that were not there before, but they do not cause rejection.

Infinix Note 12 2023

Infinix Zero Ultra
I would like to point out separately that both smartphones are officiallyare sold in Russia, are fully Russified and contain pre-installed Google services. If you buy them not at retail, but from China, everything will be the same; "Chinese" Infinix does not exist, because although it is a Chinese brand, it is not represented on the domestic market.
Cameras
Infinix Zero Ultra cameras are one of the maindeclared chips. More precisely, not all cameras, but a 200-megapixel main module based on the Samsung HP1 sensor; before Infinix, only Xiaomi and Motorla managed to implement it. Accompanies him 13-megapixel wide (Samsung 3L6) with autofocus for macro; plus there is a 2-megapixel plug with GalaxyCore GC02M1 inside. There is no telephoto this time, although last year Zero X Pro had a whole periscope. But on the main camera there is optical stabilization! As for the Note 12 2023, everything is completely sad there: a 50-megapixel base (JN1), a 2-megapixel plug (GC02M1) and a 0.08-megapixel plug.

Infinix Note 12 2023

Infinix Zero Ultra, main camera

Infinix Zero Ultra, wide
The first thing that catches your eye when comparing photosis a capture angle that the Note 12 2023 is inferior to even the main Zero Ultra camera, not to mention the width. So taking pictures of houses or anything on the Note 12 2023 can be a daunting task. But otherwise, the camera of the younger model pleasantly surprised me - during the day it shoots almost the same as the 200-megapixel Zero Ultra monster! Yes, color reproduction is slightly less accurate, but this is an unexpectedly small difference for sensors of such a different level. At the same time, at night, HP1 leaves no stone unturned from JN1: detail, color reproduction and work with light are definitely on the side of Zero Ultra. In addition, in many scenarios, even a flagship-wide photo is better than a budget model's main camera. Well, speaking of the width, it should be noted that he shoots really cool macros; Note 12 2023 has nothing to offer. All in all, the Zero Ultra offered a decent sub-flagship camera, and the Note 12 2023 isn't as bad as the camera specs make it seem.
According to the video, everything is traditional for Infinix:choose one of three. Either 60 fps, but 1080p and no electronic stabilization. Or EIS, but 1080p@30fps. Or high resolution (4K for Zero Ultra and 2K for Note 12 2023), but 30 fps and without EIS. Given the presence of OIS on the flagship, the stabilization option on it is of little interest, so feel free to turn on 4K and shoot in high resolution. Yes, and on Note 12 2023 I advise you to do the same - Infinix's stabilization algorithms are so-so, but using tripod hands you can shoot a very good video.

Infinix Note 12 2023

Infinix Zero Ultra
Infinix Note 12 2023 received a 16-megapixel fronta camera based on the Hynix Hi-1631 sensor, and the flagship got a 32-megapixel Samsung GD2. Here, in general, there are no surprises - good selfies can be obtained on both smartphones, but the older model is definitely better. Video: 1440p@30fps on the Note 12 2023, 1080p@60fps on the Zero Ultra. Detailing, of course, is better with Note 12 2023, but in general, the visuals are more pleasant with Zero Ultra.
Performance and tests
The basis of the Infinix Note 12 2023 was the bestMediaTek's 4G chipset is the Helio G99, while the flagship Zero Ultra got the Dimensity 920, familiar to us from the Realme 9 Pro+. Of course, against the background of other characteristics, this chip does not look very convincing, but still at the time of the announcement it was the most powerful processor ever used by Infinix. The amount of RAM in smartphones is the same (8 GB), permanent - 128 GB in the budget and 256 GB in the flagship. We look at screenshots from benchmarks, and then we play:

Infinix Note 12 2023

Infinix Zero Ultra
Infinix Zero Ultra Fails to Handle CPU ThrottlingTest and gave out some crazy jagged picture there, but in general it is clear that both smartphones do not throttle under load at all - well, and Zero Ultra, of course, is much more powerful than Note 12 2023. Of course, it heats up more, but this is more the difference between "weakly" and "very weakly". Note 12 2023 does not even become warm - neither in benchmarks, nor in games. The flagship does, but it is very far from uncomfortable temperature readings.
As for games, the difference in performance is notas large as you might expect from benchmark screenshots. But it's still obvious. Genshin Impact can be played comfortably on both smartphones, but on Note 12 2023 only at medium settings, and on Zero Ultra even at high settings. In other more demanding titles, the situation will be similar, but simpler games like PUBG, Standoff 2, Brawl Stars run great on both devices.

Infinix Note 12 2023

Infinix Zero Ultra
By battery capacity Infinix Zero Ultraslightly inferior to Note 12 2023: 4500 mAh vs 5000 mAh. It discharges, respectively, a little faster, but the difference is small: when browsing - 15% per hour versus 13% per hour (6.5 hours on a full charge versus 7.5 hours), in the game - 17% per hour versus 13% per hour hour (6 hours on a full charge vs. 7.5 hours). In an hour on YouTube, the younger model was discharged by 6%, the older one by 3%, but both values \u200b\u200bare not very reliable, since our specimens had charge sensors calibrated crookedly (the path from 100% to 99% was abnormally long). In any case, both smartphones will survive 1.5-2 days of active use. The youngest is even 2-2.5.

Charge speed is the second of the main declaredInfinix Zero Ultra chips. 180 W is WOW, only iQOO flagships and the Chinese Redmi Note 12 Discovery have more powerful units. A full charge takes 11 minutes! I don’t even see the point in describing in more detail how much it charges half there and how much it costs 90%. The budget with its 33 W is, of course, much slower: half in half an hour, 90% in an hour and a full charge for 1 hour 35 minutes. That's good too, really. While you have breakfast and get ready, charging for the day will be typed.
Conclusions
Before us are two completely different smartphones, andtheir conclusions will be completely different. Let's start with the budget. Infinix Note 12 2023 is a great device for the money. Practical, comfortable, with stereo speakers, acceptable cameras and excellent performance for this segment. In general, if you are looking for a smartphone to the brim and your priority is hardware, then feel free to take the Infinix Note 12 2023.
With Infinix Zero Ultra it's a different story. It continues the already familiar series of "flagships on mid-range hardware" (remember Zero X Pro, Camon 18 Premier, Phantom X…). And all these devices have two common problems. Firstly, it is not entirely clear who needs such "reverse Pocophones". Secondly, non-top hardware does not cope with some of the smartphone's features; the potential of the 200 MP camera is not fully realized for this very reason. At the same time, it does have many strong points: lightning-fast charging, gorgeous design and ergonomics, stable software, an excellent screen with low PWM, wide-angle with autofocus, and availability in retail. So the Zero Ultra is a good option for about 40,000 rubles if hardware is not a priority for you.
