“First of all, consultants will assess the threats andpossible damage associated with the use of foreign software,” notes Sergey Koshelev, a leading expert at Innopolis University in the field of software import substitution.
As a basis for import substitutionconsultants use the register of domestic programs maintained by the Russian Ministry of Digital Development. At present, it is about 13 thousand different developments. If it is not possible to find an analogue in the registry that will fully comply with the wishes of the partner, the experts will offer to develop new software.
“As part of the creation of a new software solutionUniversity employees will form the terms of reference, develop programs, conduct tests and deploy new software in the industrial environment of the enterprise,” says Koshelev.
A typical transition plan (roadmap) is calculatedfor 7 months, they note at the university. At the same time, the priority for experts is to minimize damage to the company's current business processes. If necessary, consultants can include work on data migration and conversion, employee training and organizational changes within the company in the roadmap.
Earlier in an interview with the Tatar-inform agencyOleg Protopopov, Director of the Investment Promotion Department of the Innopolis Special Economic Zone, said that residents and partners of the SEZ have more than 50 ready-made analogues of import programs. These solutions, according to Protopopov, can be used in a variety of areas: for example, in medical and financial systems, for internal automation of companies or when creating a smart city.
