Also at the conference they will present the first study in Russia on the role of women in the venture ecosystem “Women in Russian Venture 2021” from the Zerno Ventures fund.
The authors believe that today in Russia the number of women’s projects is comparable to the world, but they attract less investment, despite the fact that they are also crisis-resistant and have growth potential.
From 2016 to 2020, only every seventh projectwith a female founder attracted outside investment, compared to every fourth male project where women did not participate. As a result, over the past five years, projects from women in Russia participated in 1 out of 9 venture capital deals and attracted 23 times less investment than men.
