Insider: Capcom is developing Resident Evil 8, and Konami resurrects Silent Hill

After the controversial Resident Evil 7, developers from Capcom released only a couple of remakes, but in the foreseeable future

fans can also get a full-fledged sequel.

Insider AestheticGamer aka.Dusk Golem, who has already become famous for his truthful leaks about the remakes of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3, shared new information about the franchise. According to the source, Capcom has taken on Resident Evil 8, and for the second time. Development of the game began back in 2016, but eventually the team was sent to make DLC for the seventh part and a remake of RE2.

Resident Evil 8 development has just resumed6-7 months ago, and the team threw away the work, starting with a clean slate. So the continuation of the series will not be released soon and after the release of Resident Evil 3. According to an insider, the company will take a break from remakes and will continue to develop the “zombie series.”

At the same time, fans may see an update to another game similar to Resident Evil. Perhaps we are talking about Dino Crisi, the rights to which Capcom renewed at the end of 2019.

At the same time, Konami has been working ona couple of games based on the Silent Hill universe. One of them is a light reboot with an emphasis on the plot, and the second project – an episodic story in the spirit of Until Dawn and the creations of Telltale Games. The insider expects that the project could be presented as early as 2020.
