Intel also showed at CES 2020 a folding Horseshoe Bend laptop with a large flexible display

Yesterday we wrote about what Lenovo presented at CES 2020, which takes place in Las Vegas.

What it is

Unlike the already finished Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold, this is a prototype folding laptop codenamed Horseshoe Bend.

When folded, it's a regular laptop.with a 12.5-inch display. The second part can be used as a virtual keyboard or to display controls. When unfolded, you get a large 17.3-inch screen with a 4:3 aspect ratio.

A regular magnetic keyboard is connected to the laptop.

Horseshoe Bend is known to be working with newTiger Lake processor with integrated GPU Xe. This is the first chip manufactured using the 10nm+ process technology. A fanless design is also reported.

For now, this is still a “raw” prototype that needs to be further developed. Whether such a foldable laptop will appear on the commercial market is still unknown.
