Now instead of Pentium and Celeron there will be Intelrelease processors with a simple name - Intel Processor. The first laptop with this chip will be released next year; nothing is known about PCs yet. At the same time, Intel will continue to focus on its flagship brands: Intel Core, Intel Evo and Intel vPro.
The company's statement said that IntelProcessor will serve as a brand name for multiple processor families, helping consumers simplify the product purchasing process and streamlining brand offerings across different PC segments.
Josh Newman, Intel vice president and interim general manager of mobile client platforms, emphasized:
“Intel Corporation is committed to implementinginnovation for the benefit of users, and our entry-level processor families have played a decisive role in raising the standard of PCs at all price points. The new Intel processor brand will simplify our offerings so users can focus on choosing the processor that suits their needs.
By the way, the Pentium and Celeron brands are almost 30 years old: Intel has been using the Pentium brand since 1993, and Celeron since 1998.
