Inter Dream VR device fights insomnia with neural co-lift

Artists and researchers from the University of the Royal Institute of Technology Melbourne (RMIT) created

virtual reality tool to help you fall asleep.

How it works

The Inter-Dream device combines ambient music and kaleidoscopic visual effects that are controlled by the user's brain waves through an EEG (electroencephalography).

Inter-Dream assigns different colors and properties.different brain waves and changes them depending on brain activity. The result is constantly moving colors, shapes and patterns. More active brain give brighter images that should help calm down and fall asleep. The gadget uses the principles of neurobiology, using real-time brain activity mapping to teach users to regulate their mental state.

What do users say

Inter-Dream was first conceived as a publicart project PluginHUMAN. The surveys showed that 21% of the subjects had less negative emotions, 55% reported a decrease in fear after using the device. Positive emotions increased in 8%, and a sense of serenity jumped in 13%. Theoretically, all these changes will lead to improved sleep.

Semerzidis says that for the realization of suchThe project requires additional testing, but at least this indicates that in some cases, technology can actually help you fall asleep.
