iOS 10.3 beta 1 will be released with the new “Theater” mode

According to information from renowned analyst Sony Dixon, Apple will release iOS 10.3 for

developers early next month (10January). The upcoming version of the OS will come with a new function “Theater Mode” along with the new icon of the Control Center in the form of “popcorn”. At the moment, it is not yet clear what the “theater mode” is for, but it may very well be a mode reminiscent of Apple’s dark mode in tvOS10, updated this year. Apple is likely to distribute this first beta version of iOS 10.3 among developers on January 10, with a final release likely to be released to the public in March when the company is rumored to launch new iPad devices.

Apple has released the final build of firmware 10.2 to the public after numerous beta versions earlier this month. The update introduces more than 70 new emoticons, an SOS function, a small update to the Apple Music app, a new TV application, and a single sign-on function.
