iOS update brings old AirPods Pro closer to their newest version

Thanks to the third beta of iOS 16.1, which was released earlier this week, the adaptive

transparency, introduced in the second generation AirPods Pro, has now appeared on the original AirPods Pro. Discuss

As noted on Reddit, AirPods Pro ownersfirst-generation AirPods that also have the AirPods beta program will now see an Adaptive Transparency toggle. in the "Settings" section. Beta firmware 5A304A is required to see this setting.

Apple introduced adaptive transparency inAirPods Pro 2. It is designed to allow AirPods to block out loud sounds such as sirens, construction work, or loud speakers at a concert without blocking out all sound.

AirPods Pro 2 are equipped with an updated H2 chip that enables adaptive transparency, so it's not yet clear how the feature works with the H1 chip in the original AirPods Pro.
