This prohibition takes effect after the court inBogota has ruled that the use of 5G on the iPhone 12, iPhone 13 and other 5G-enabled iPads violates Ericsson's patent for fifth-generation communications technology.
Apple has already filed an appeal and wants to challenge the ruling. But for now, companies are banned from "importing, selling, commercializing and advertising products that infringe the patent."
At the moment, it is not known whether Ericsson will achieve similar victories in other countries. If this happens, it could be a big blow to Apple and force the company to come to an agreement with Ericsson.
