iPhone SE (2022) failed, Apple bets on iPhone 14 Max

The analytical agency Credit Suisse has released a report on the state of the global smartphone market, including —

The document pays special attention to Apple as the largest manufacturer of premium smartphones.According to the document, the company is not lowering its production plans for most models, unlikeThe only notable exception was the iPhone SE (2022): back in the spring, the company planned to produce 26 million copies of its mid-ranger, but has now reduced its plans to 11 million.Another low-cost Apple product, the iPhone 11, was almost not reduced: it is planned to produce 25 million copies instead of 26 million according to spring plans.

Production plans for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 seriesalso hardly changed. The previous generation will be released with a circulation of 20 million instead of 24 million in previous plans, the current one - 111 million instead of 110 million. Broken down by model, Apple's current plans look like this: 7 million iPhone 13 mini, 56 million iPhone 13, 20 million iPhone 13 Pro and 27 million iPhone 13 Pro. At the same time, the production of older models is planned to be stopped in the fall, but 13 mini and 13 will roll off the assembly line before the end of the year.

Production of different models of iPhone 12, 13 and 14 in the first quarters of sales.
For some reason, Credit Suisse analysts call the iPhone 14 and 14 Max as 14 mini and 14

The most interesting part is Apple's plansfor the production of iPhone 14 before the end of the year. Now the company sets them at 124 million copies - but these are traditionally exaggerated plans, which the company cuts closer to the fall. At the same time, the most popular model should be the iPhone 14 Max - a large model with a "bangs" and without a telephoto; it accounts for 32% of production. The shares of other models are as follows: iPhone 14 - 22%, iPhone 14 Pro - 24%, iPhone 14 Pro Max - 21%. However, the realities of consumer demand may change this ratio before the end of the year and, especially, in 2023.
