According to the US military, Iran tried to hijack an American unmanned vessel.

What is known

The incident occurred on the night of August 29 in PersianBay The US 5th Fleet spotted Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps support ship Shahid Baziar towing the unmanned vessel Saildrone Explorer (USV). The US Navy patrol boat USS Thunderbolt (PC 12) was sent after him, as well as the MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter, which was located at a base in Bahrain. The Iranian vessel eventually released the cable and abandoned the maritime drone.
