Iranian drones received by Russia did not become a technological breakthrough and suffered numerous failures in battle - Pentagon

Since August, Russia began actively using Iranian-made drones in Ukraine. However they

failed to change the course of the war, US Defense Department officials say.

What does it mean

The US has seen evidence that Iraniandrones have suffered “numerous failures” on the battlefield. Deputy Deputy Secretary of Defense for Policy Sasha Baker announced this at a briefing.

“We have already seen evidence that UAVs deployed from Iran have already experienced multiple failures on the battlefield in Ukraine,” she stressed.

As a result, drones have not become bigtechnological breakthrough for Russia. "I think the idea that they represent some kind of technological leap forward... frankly, we just don't find support for that," Baker added.

Recently, Ukrainian military personnelAlmost every day, several Shahed 136 kamikaze drones are shot down. Iran does not admit to supplying weapons to Russia, and Russia uses the Shahed 136 under its own name – "Geranium-2".
