Daniel J. StraussStrauss, a neuroscience professor in Germany, says it's possible to learn to move your ears if you want to, though it's likely to take a lot of practice. The professor participated in a study in which scientists tried to find out whether sound stimuli can cause involuntary movements of the ears.

The fact is that some animals, such asdogs, cats, horses, and rabbits can wiggle their ears at will to better focus on certain sounds. Strauss hypothesized that humans "preserved a rudimentary pinna orientation system" that survived as a "neural fossil" in the brain.

The results of the study showed that almost allhumans do have the ability to move their ears, and this movement can be caused by sound. However, Strauss acknowledged, these movements are barely noticeable. Trained muscles around the ear can help make them more noticeable.
