The researcher collected 1483 Brazilian women inaged 18 to 75 years. Participants filled out special questionnaires. So scientists defined their general self-esteem - how a person relates to himself, and social self-esteem - how a person relates to himself in social interactions.
The results showed that almost half of the participantsI spent less than 5 minutes a day on makeup. Girls with higher overall self-esteem spent less money on cosmetics, while those with higher social self-esteem spent more. In addition, women who were more appearance-oriented were more likely to wear makeup and spend more time on it.
