According to a 26-year-old patient, in his family, nowho didn't have a heart attack. However, he previously used 8-10 energy drinks a day. Doctors suggested that it was because of the abuse of energy drinks that the man had blood clots in the main blood vessel that leads to the heart.

Energy drinks are high in caffeine.Because of this, a person's blood vessels constantly narrowed. This condition is called vasospasm. As a result, the blood flow was so reduced all the time that a blood clot formed in the vessel leading to the heart.

However, this does not mean that energetics are alwayslead to a heart attack. Perhaps the doctors did not take into account other factors that could contribute to this. The experts themselves admitted that there is little evidence yet of a link between energy drinks and heart problems.

But still, doctors recommended drinking energy drinks in moderation.

Also in 2021 in the British Medical Journal waspublished a similar report on a 21-year-old young man who suffered from heart failure. Previously, he regularly drank four cans (500 ml each) of energy drinks daily for about two years. Each such jar contained 160 mg of caffeine, taurine and other substances. Blood tests showed that the patient had such severe kidney and heart failure that he needed an organ transplant.
