In one of the episodes on the Honest Blog channel, its presenter Phil tested the Redmi K50 Pro and Xiaomi 12 Pro smartphones in various scenarios. Everything turned out to be not so clear.
In terms of video shooting from the front camera, if you record something against the backdrop of a sunset, then Redmi does a better job. This smartphone, unlike its competitor, does not light up the background.
The main camera in 4K 30 fps mode on the Redmi K50 Pro, on the contrary, copes worse with light. That is, it has a slightly less dynamic range.
In Full HD 60 fps on the main lens, video recording is also better on Xiaomi 12 Pro. In addition, stabilization works better on this smartphone.
The ultra wide angle lens also turns out better on the Xiaomi.
At night, the advantage of Xiaomi in shooting videobecomes even more noticeable. This can be seen both in the main camera in 4K 30 fps, where the 12 Pro has better detail, white balance and less noise, and in the wide-angle in Full HD 30 fps.
As for the photographs, in the evening hours onRedmi's main camera takes darker photos, but handles backlight better. Detailing is better on Xiaomi. The ultra wide-angle camera shoots about the same in both cases.
In the daytime, the 12 Pro takes too saturated pictures. At the same time, both smartphones are again as close as possible in detail, but Xiaomi is a little better.
The situation is similar with portrait shots.Moreover, on Xiaomi, portrait mode (with blurring of the background) is turned on only if you take a photo with an increase. At the same time, Redmi can take pictures in this mode without zooming. If we compare the pictures, then the difference between them will be for the most part only in color reproduction. More saturated colors come out exactly on Xiaomi 12 Pro, but in portrait mode it processes the face worse than Redmi K50 Pro. Also, the detailing in some photos from Xiaomi is noticeably better.
The selfie camera on the 12 Pro also performs better. For example, she definitely wins in details.
