ispace prepares for the first-ever moon landing of a private spacecraft

The Japanese company ispace sent the Hakuto-R M1 spacecraft to the Moon. It will be the first private landing

module that will land on the natural satellite of our planet.

What is known

The launch of the Hakuto-R M1 took place in December last year. He was sent into space on a SpaceX rocket that launched from a complex in Cape Canaveral, Florida.

Hakuto-R M1 will land early Wednesday morning.The final step will take an hour. Before proceeding to landing, the spacecraft will be at an altitude of 100 km above the surface of the Moon, and its speed will be about 6000 km/h.

After the Hakuto-R M1 is onsatellite surface, it will deploy the Japan Space Agency (JAXA) lunar rover. The rover was developed with the support of Tomy Co and Sony. Also on board the lander are an experimental battery developed by NGK Spark Plug Co and the UAE's Rashid lunar rover.

next year, ispace plans to make moreone mission. This time, a Japanese startup will send its own rover to the moon. From 2025, the company will deliver cargo for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) as part of the mission to establish a lunar colony.
