It's time to give way to the Pixel 5a: Google appears to be discontinuing production of the Pixel 4a 5G

Probably, Google decided to exclude from its range the Pixel 4a 5G smartphone, which was released in September

last year.

This is hinted at by the lack of a model in manystores. So, it is no longer available under contract in the UK and the US, and disappeared from Amazon and Best Buy. B&H Photo and Video explicitly states that the smartphone is no longer in production.

With the exception of Verizon, all major carriers still have the Pixel 4a 5G in stock. Actually, just like in the Google Store.

Of course, so far these are only assumptions that allare quite logical. The fact is that Google is preparing a new Pixel 5a, which should be presented at the end of July or August. Add to that the reports claiming the Pixel 5a will essentially be a repackaged Pixel 4a 5G, and it's not hard to see why Google might be planning to discontinue the phone relatively early in its lifecycle.
