Jailbreak Saïgon now supports more devices

Abraham Masri has released an update to the Saïgon jailbreak for iOS 10.2.1 that uses the new “v0rtex” exploit. At the core

This exploit has the same system vulnerability as in Ian Beer's exploit for iOS 11. With the new update, Saïgon began to work more stable, which could not be said about it before.

In addition, in the new 3 beta version, support for a larger number of devices, but, alas, not firmware, is added. List of new supported devices:

  • iPad Air (Cellular) (10.2)
  • iPhone 5s (10.2.1)
  • iPhone SE (10.2.1) (not tested)
  • iPhone 6 / Plus (10.2.1)
  • iPhone 6s / Plus (10.2.1) (not tested)
  • iPhone 6 (10.3.x) (not yet)

We hope that the support of the remaining 64-bitdevices will also be added in the future. Technically, the v0rtex exploit should support versions prior to iOS 10.3.3 and devices up to iPhone 7 (+). However, developers still have a lot of work to do. Most likely, first there will be support for iPhone 7 with iOS 10.2.1, and then with iOS 10.3.x. Then support for 32-bit devices will be added. Protecting the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will require the use of another exploit, which has not yet been detected. Or you have to completely change the Cydia code.

Here's what's new in Saïgon beta 3:

  • Increased the number of successful jailbreaks using the new exploit (v0rtex).
  • Added support for more devices (not all have been tested).
  • The program code has been completely rewritten.

To upgrade from a previous beta, simplyuninstall the Saïgon application, reboot the device, download the new version .ipa via Cydia Impactor and reinstall the jailbreak. This time everything should be much faster.

As you can see in the screenshot above, the new beta was tested on the iPhone 5s with iOS 10.2.1, and it works perfectly. Jailbreak is installed on the first try every time.
