California-based air taxi manufacturer Joby Aviation is one step closer to a full-fledged launch of the service

The company received one of three certificates,needed to start the service. This is a document issued by the Federal Aviation Administration, which allows Joby Aviation to provide passenger transportation services using electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft.

The regulator issued the certificate ahead of schedule.The company originally planned to receive approval in the third or fourth quarter of 2022. To fully launch the Joby Aviation passenger transportation service, you need to obtain a certificate that will allow you to start mass production of air taxis, as well as a document indicating that the vehicles meet all the requirements.
Recall that the electric aircraft of the Californian companydesigned for six people, including the pilot. The taxi is equipped with rotary propellers for vertical takeoff/landing and horizontal flight. The maximum speed of the air taxi is 320 km/h and the cruising range is 240 km. Market entry is scheduled for 2024.
