Leica unveils its first Leitz Phone 1 smartphone: Sharp AQUOS R6 clone with 1-inch camera sensor and Snapdragon 888 chip on board

Leica, together with the Japanese holding Softbank, announced the first smartphone under its own brand.

What is known

The novelty was named Leica Leitz Phone 1.The device received a design in the style of branded cameras with a red circle Leica Red Dot. In addition, the smartphone comes with a case and a magnetic lens cover. In terms of specifications, they are exactly the same as those of the recently released Sharp AQUOS R6.

Leica Leitz Phone 1 got 6.6-inch Pro IGZO OLED screen with 2730 x 1260p resolution, 411 ppi pixel density, 2000 nits peak brightness and 240 Hz refresh rate. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 888 chip paired with 12 GB of RAM. The main feature of a smartphone is its camera. It has a 1-inch sensor with a resolution of 20 MP, an f / 1.9 aperture and a focal length of 35 mm. The sensor is paired with a 7-lens Leica lens. It is complemented by a ToF sensor and LED flash. It is currently the largest camera sensor in smartphones.

The device also has a 5000 mAh battery, Qualcomm 3D Sonic Max fingerprint scanner, IPX5 / 8 and IP6X protection, NFC and a built-in 5G modem.

Price and when to wait

The Leica Leitz Phone 1 will go on sale in Japan on June 18th. For the apparatus, they will ask for $ 1,700.
