LG wants to add advertising and paid subscriptions to smart home devices and home appliances

LG presented its new business strategy, which aims to increase revenue from 51

billion dollars to almost $79 billion by 2030. And there are several interesting points in this strategy.

What is known

So, LG plans to explore advertising and subscription options for its TVs and home appliances. Thus, once a TV or refrigerator is sold, it will continue to bring profit to the manufacturer.

But it seems that the paid subscription will not workjust like on streaming platforms, that is, you don’t have to pay to not see ads. Subscribing to smart home appliances means you receive useful updates and new features.

LG's first such products should beTVs, which will lead to changes to the webOS operating system. The company also wants WebOS to appear on other non-TV products from LG in the next five years.
