LG starts installing transparent OLED displays instead of subway windows

LG is the first company in the world to equip subways with transparent OLED displays.

Why do you need it

First

55-inch panels will be installed on the sixthBeijing Subway Line and Shenzhen Subway Line Ten. They will display information about train movements, stations and metro lines, as well as weather, news and other useful data.

Such displays have a 38 percent transparency level and support image output in Full HD resolution.

Next, LG plans to equip other screensmetros around the world and increase production of transparent OLED displays. The company says they can be used instead of regular glass in store windows and as platforms for outdoor advertising.
