Light unmanned helicopter experienced delivery of ammunition

The unmanned aerial vehicle was tested as part of the FVL tender announced by the US Army in 2011

year. It involves the creation of several autonomous medium and light class aircraft that will be able to conduct reconnaissance and compete in carrying capacity with transport aircraft.

One of the bidders was easyunmanned helicopter Camcopter S-100. The length of the device is 3.1 m, the width is 1.2 m, and the diameter of the rotor is 3.4 m. The maximum take-off weight of the device is 200 kg. It is capable of transporting goods weighing up to 50 kg and flying at speeds up to 190 km / h.

Camcopter S-100 can move both completely autonomously and under operator control. One battery charge of the device is enough for six hours of flight, its maximum range is 180 km.

During the demonstration flight, an unmanned helicopter delivered a cargo consisting of a set of ammunition and medicine to US Army units. Testing was considered successful.

Earlier European manufacturers of Airbus helicoptersHelicopters and Schiebel tested the MUM-T (Manned-UnManned Teaming) system, which allows the pilot to receive intelligence from unmanned aerial vehicles and even control their flight.
